i wanted a good smartphone that is compatible with macs unlike blackberry, and i wanted to know if its worth buying yet. Do you need to have an AT&T phone, or can you use another carrier. Also with PDA's, do they need to be on some type of phone plan. I have verizon any help is appreciated

I have the iphone 3g and i have the latest 2.0.2 software update for it.
I have downloaded some free and paid apps from the app store and was looking to jailbreak it so i could get some apps i had on my previously jailbroken original iphone that are unavailable on the app store such as the video recording and the old version of copter ( i dont like the new one on the app store) Is there any way that i could jailbreak it and download apps from the installer app once jailbroken and still get apps from the app store. Also i heard jailbreaking it voids your warranty but surely if anything goes wrong you can just restore your iphone to its original settings. can anyone help me out here
By the way i know i can jailbreak the latest version (2.0.2) and i i have windows- of that helps.

I'm looking to buy the iPhone 3G while I'm out in America. I want to use my O2 Pay & Go sim- can the iPhone be unlocked to accept a different network, and is there someone you can take the phone to and pay for it to be unlocked?
And once the phone IS unlocked, will it interfere with any other things such as YouTube or the internet? Thanks. =] Can you buy the iPhone already unlocked (I doubt it)?

i would truly like to put my whole life on this thing and use it for anything, communication(aim,texting,etc.) download programs(Areaglaxy,limewire,etc.) watch videos(youtube,dailymotion,video.yahoo/flash,adobe,realplayer,windows media,etc.)microsoft windows and programs like that, internet access anywhere, great memory, runs extremely fast,can download anything,great graphics
i was thinkin something like the HTC 8925

Ok, I have an iphone but no data, I use my home internet ALL DAY. I have fam. plan w/ unlimited messaging (text/pic/IM etc.) and my we got our bill and it said we owe $500+ there was some unknown charge called "wrlss intrnt xprs pay per use" on it. I was in awe as I never use EDGE like EVER my edge usage on my phone says 0 sent/received All I want to know is can I turn off EDGE from the phone and still have my messaging and voicemail and my wifi working? (I use normal voicemail)
I have 1.1.4 and It IS jailbroken and I have herd bossprefs doesn't do the job (blocks texting)
