Apps aren’t working on my iPhone?
I recently upgraded the software to 2.0.2., and then uploaded some new songs from iTunes. Now everytime I hit my apps, they appear on the screen for 2 seconds, then disappear. I even reset all the settings, deleted the apps I uploaded, then reinstalled them. Same thing happens when I tap on them. They appear, then disappear after 2 seconds and goes back to home screen. Did I miss something when I downloaded the new software?
Your all retarded!!! No one cares if your having the same problem. If someone asks a question, and your having the same problem, wait for a response On how to fix it. 9 pages of people saying the same thing is dumb. All that you had to do was wait for an answer. You all fail!!

Cory is right, just download a random free app & they will all work again, just did it & now it is fine.

All you have to do is download another app…just do a free one and then they should work. Worked for me!!

I had the same problem! All you have to do is download another app and then when it is finished installing, all your apps will work!

Yep. Me too. It’s happened before. It went away eventually, so I’d say just wait it out.. It’s annoying.

Definitely is happening to me for the second time after rebooting my phone entirely and loosing my contacts. Considering the price premium we pay for the iPhone over the alternatives, it’s extremely annoying. Apple better get it together!!! Cory, thanks for the quick fix. He’s right everyone. Apps work right away.

I am having the same app problem and NOTHING is working. I just bought the iPhone a week ago and it is NOT IMPRESSING ME AT ALL. I actually dont even like it because it is so difficult to understand why apps wont work? No one is helping me. I thought this phone was the best thing out there and I spent all this money on it!!!!!!! Someone help me figure out how to fix th is problem! I have tried deleting my apps and resyncing nothing will work.

Same thing happening to me I can use the aps that come on the phone but I can’t use my other aps I tryed dowloandin another ap didn’t work still and I reset whole phone still not workin bin like this for more then a month

This Worked.
Connect your device to a computer and open iTunes.
In iTunes, select your device in the left-hand column and then click the Applications tab. Verify that Sync Applications is checked.
Choose Store > Deauthorize Computer from the menu bar. Enter your iTunes Store account and password, and then click Deauthorize.
Click Sync in the lower-right to sync your device. When prompted, select Don’t Authorize. This will remove all applications and other iTunes Store content from the device.
Note: You may see this prompt more than once. Select Don’t Authorize each time.
When the sync is complete, choose Store > Authorize Computer from the menu bar. Enter your iTunes Store account and password, and then click Authorize.
Sync your applications and content from iTunes to the device.

Same thing happened to me when I uploaded music- it automatically updated iPhone software and then my apps didn’t work! I installed a random update from the app store and it’s all better now! Thanks!

Jenn’s suggestion worked fine for me. go to itunes, up at the top you will see file edit view ect. click on Store then click authorize computer. it will prompt you to enter your login and password. when you complete that, then sync your ipod again and your apps should sync with your computer and they will work on your ipod(phone) again.

Oh my god, I have the same problem. I got really annoyed with it, so I deleted all my apps and downloaded them again. They all worked fine after that, but when I synced it with my computer again, it happened all over again. I don’t want to download them every time I sync. Is there a way to fix this?!

I had the EXACT same problem. I’m a bran new Mac owner and iPhone owner.
I phoned Apple and they solved it. For me: my computer was not authorized on the iTunes store for whatever reason. Make sure your computer is authorized AND you’re iTunes store account is signed in.
To authorize your computer, click on “store” (when iTunes is open). Click “authorize” and you’ll have type in your password and your account.
When you go back on the tab section, under ‘Applications’ all your applications should show up there. If they don’t you have an account problem (either with your iphone or computer)
You’ll have to delete all the applications that aren’t working and sync them on your iphone from your computer. If that works download another app while your iphone is still connected to your computer. Click ‘sync’ again and that new app should appear on your computer AND still work on your phone.

The solution to this I found is to just download a free app from the appstore on your phone. The new app will not only work, but all your other applications will work fine. It seems like there is a glitch in the software when you download apps from the app store on your phone. Download them on iTunes and then sync them to your phone.

I’m having the same problem– I did what seems like is working for many people– downloading another free app (from my iPod touch 3g) and it still wouldn’t work!!!! I tried calling Apple but of course they were no help. I an very concerned And fed up with Apple. I tried looking on the settigs to see if that would do anything… It didn’t. My apps haven’t been working for 2 weeks!!!!! The apps are specifically why I bought the iPod touch! It’s just a big dissappointment…

Omg!!! This is happening to my iPod touch also!!! I lost my first one ( I think it was stolen) bought a new one that was 2g and the apps wouldn’t work it would just go straight back to the home screen!!! this problem is very frequent.
to fix it you must download an app.
the ipod and iphone don’t have a problem its just to get you to download a new app and possibly pay for one just find a free app then delete and reinstall it works all the time.

Cory, you’re a hero. I was about to ditch ATT altogether over this failure of a phone (I just joined a couple days ago and it’s done this twice). Everyone else…stop posting before you read and being crybabies, just read either Jenn’s or Cory’s posts and try that. I can personally vouch for Cory’s as I just fixed my phone with it.
