Fix cydia crashes with open ssh on ipod touch 3rd gen?

I have ipod touch 3rd gen 3.1.2 jailbroken with blackra1n. One day i downloaded a package with cydia (i dont remember the name) and cydia crashed and now whenever i try to open cydia it shows the regular loading stuff with the top and bottom bars then it crashes. I know that its possible yo fix this using iFile the only problem is that i dont have it and Rock wont let me download it. I have also heard of another way to fix this using open ssh and i have it installed but i have no idea how to use it so help please. I am also just wondering if i just uninstall cydia through Rock and then renistall it would it work?
