itunes wont let me touch my iPod songs!.!?

I got an ipod touch for x/mas and i synced all of the songs in my itunes library to my new ipod, but itunes wont let me get to my songs on my ipod (to delete new songs i don't like & stuff like that), but if this helps any i had a ipod nano that i was using before the ipod touch and i plugged in my old ipod to see if the same thing would happen, but it didn't, i was able to rearrange & delete my songs!.! and i even uninstalled and reinstalled a new itunes. (please help) (THANK YOU)
