Can Rosetta Stone be downloaded to iPhone?

Right now I am studying Arabic with Rosetta Stone and I was wondering if anyone knows how to download the program to the iPhone. There is currently no app for it, but just curious if there was any other way to set it up. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanx!!

If you already have Rosetta Stone Ver 3 it comes with Audio that you can import and put on your iPod. If not and you’re just looking for a consolidated language learning program, there are tons of apps on the App Store ranging from free (and typically substandard) to $20. Not bad (and a lot cheaper than Rosetta Stone).

Obviously Daniel is correct in that any future app from Rosetta Stone won’t be Flash. But as easy as it is to code a quiz style app and have inputs from the international keyboards on the iPhone it’s not an issue. The app probably won’t be as “involved” as the computer software but will still keep you plenty busy.

Wildrat is completely off with his “Flash on iPhone” reasoning. Flash is buggy. Flash is a battery drainer. Flash does not run well on touch applications. There are a few articles that illustrate such issues with the Android operating system, (when it crashed during a demo. Oops.) Google them.

According to new York times they are working on an application for iPhone which gonna be soon on apple store and it definately not gonna be flash coz apple is never gonna let flash on iPhone not coz of power issues but coz flash can be used to run apps which means app store is gonna lose a lot of money … Arabic is a great language it’s my mother language good choice

There is a posibilty someone may be able to create Rosetta Stone into an App for a jailbroken IPhone or Ipod Touch. I am currently just using the Rosetta V3 Audio so I can learn spanish and swedish on the go. Plus having that little bit anywhere you are really can help alot.

No, Rosetta Stone is developed in flash if I remember right, and currently there is no flash for iPhone, if there was, it would drain your battery so fast you wouldn’t even be able to use it for extensive periods of time, like 45 minutes :) . Now your thinking, “What about video? It plays that fine.” The iPhone has a special chip that “understands” the only video format playable on iPhone, so it doesn’t use it’s processor nearly as much.
