How can I get the aim notifications on my iPhone to work?

K so my unlocked iPhone 3g is updated to the new firmwaRe And everything is peachy I'm on it now. The only problem I'm having is to get my aim notifications to work. I tried to get text alerts and the push notifications and nothing. I hate it cuz I get Ims and when I check they're from like an hour ago. Does anyone know if I may have like a setting wrong or something??????
