How do I update software on an unlocked iPhone without re-locking it?


I have an unlocked 8gb iPhone that I use with tmobile with software 1.4. I have a bunch of applications that i need to use with it, but the software requires version 2.0 or 2.2. i dont know how to do any of this crap, and im affraid if i do anything ill relock it. How can i update it without doing that?

    Hi, I have just upgrade my iphone from 3.0 to 3.0.1. throug itune. after the download and installation message came on my screen and says that “iphone could not recognized”. no menu icons nothing, just emergency tel is available now. How can I uninstall the last upgrade? My iphone is not 3g.
