im trying to download the new iphone 3.0 software but it keeps saying the activation server is unavailable?

i have the iphone 3g and im trying to download the new 3.0 software but everytime i click check update and it asks me if i want to download the new 3.0 software i click install and it says "apple activation server unavailabe" is that happening to anyone else??? what should i do?????
