iPhone 2g will not sync to itunes?

I have a jailbroken 2g iphone that is running 2.2.1 and iTunes 8.02 and when I attempt to sync my phone it says sync in progress then precedes to stop syncing. I am trying to update my apps. The iPhone and my computer both show that the iPhone is connected and recieving power but the sync feature will not work. Please help me! Thank you so much in advance! P.S. I am running windows XP

Try connecting iPhone to your pc,let it do its sync with iTunes (even if it won’t)then leave your phone connected to the pc via it’s dock and switch off your iPhone and when you turn it back on it should work.
I had the same problem and this worked for me.

i have 2G wit os 3.1.4 befor 3.0 work and sync with Itune 100% fine now its not sync with itune a msg accour unknown error.
wen i upgrade 3.0 same issue than i install sync softwear from cyida now i forget that source.
Advice plzzz
