I’ve paid for an otter box from iPhonegear. com and can get no response from them about my order. I’m going through google checkout to try and get this resolved. I saw a post from from the owner if that site on this board. I’d sure like to get an email, my otter box or my money back from you Elvis McNeely!

It seems like it may be, i went through the checkout process on their website and it says “in order to keep our prices so LOW, at this time we are only accepting money orders, and checks.” Every time i call there is someone different answering, claiming that paypal is definitely a payment option, but the website doesn’t allow me to. So i’m waiting for a call back from Iphone gear usa with instructions on how to use paypal. If that’s the case i’ll call paypal and find out just how secure my payment is, and if i’ll be able to get my money back if i get a cheap rip off, or no phone at all.

I assume that is a scam, is too good to be true, and they want the payment as check or money order, there isn’t grantee that they gonna send the product to you.

well this is what i am thinking i see that the website is still up, i do know that the registrant of the website is in Toronto, Canada. I am going to make a fraud report to them as well. I will let everyone know the outcome. If anyone can think of anything else I would be open to that too

Kiki If you look back in all of these emails you’ll see that the if you look up who and when the website as setup it was by that Myles guy and his address is Toronto(could be bogus too) I did call the HEnderson PD again but they told me it was in the hands of the invesitagors I wonder if that is why the phone# got inactivated. I am so mad I just dont know where to go from here

I went to file a police report but I doubt they are going to do anything about it. And for the bank, I was recommended that I change my bank account just in case they have my bank info. I will try talking to the bank again see if I can get my money back. I get so angry just thinking about it. This is just f*%#@d up!!!

I have emailed the hell out of this company, but I never got it. About the weeks after I apid for it, they said it was schedueled to ship early last week, and alllow 3-5 business dyas, it has been over 5 business days, but guess what, no iphone!!!! I ordered 6 and researched the heck out of it. I guess I was one of the first since I couldn’t find anything. I actually talked to a female before ordering and just went over the instructions to order. I didn’t really question her enough, obviously looking back. The phone # is now inactive so this is not looking good. I will try to talk to my bank tomorrow. I’ll let everyone know what I find out.

I recommend you call the FBI. I haven’t purchased anything from this site but from reading all the comments it’s clear this is a Federal issue and not a local police issue. It’s a “cyber crime” and there needs to be swift action to stop these people.

I would pay a lawyer twice what I payed for my iphone, just so these assholes won’t have the money. I don’t even want my money back, I just want my fucking iphone. I too am in the sucker group. They said my check was posted 11/11/09. After a couple of e-mails with a return answer they stopped returning my e-mail, when i call all i get is a machine and never a answer.Tried sending e-mail from wifes cumputer and they responded that the phone was sent out today by usps..We will see. But my check has yet to be cleared from my back….weard

Folks, if someone accepts only MOs or checks, especially for a hot product, what’s the rule?
Yes: If it sounds to good to be true, it ain’t true.
Don’t ever send checks or MOs unless you know the person well. Credit cards are ok, PayPal may be (I’d have to verify), the rest is NOT ok.

well the saga continues i did find someone in the bldg where we sent our checks however they are owner of the bldg when i asked if they have a co in there named iphonegear usa she said yes but they have a virtual office (not really an office) she did say that she signs for their mail(our checks) and they just come to pick them up i have filed a complaint with the better business bureau, internet crime complaint and my own police dept if anyone has any other ideas can you let me know

I emailed them last night and an automatic reply was sent to me saying if your order was made october 25 – november 30, your order was shipped december 2, via usps.
Hmmm… maybe, just maybe its not a scam???? If it is not here by next friday, its safe to say that 100% its a scam. Right now, I’m 99% sure it is a scam.

I talked to my bank and they couldn’t do anything for me. They did say that the check was deposited by first American bank. They also suggested calling the police as well as filing a civil suit against them. I’m not real familiar with how this works but I will research it and see what seems like the best way to go. Rick has a great idea about the FBI and looking into it as a cybercrime. I’ll let you know what I find out.

I’m assuming that if they really shipped them, based on their shipping price, they are using priority mail, whic takes 2-3 days, it has now been 2, one more day left, if they did ship through priority. God this has been a pain in the ass, I could have burned that $200 to keep me warm.

I read all the online comments from yahoo answer to iphoneanswer.com, and i called their answering services and I called their sales department. I got 2 emails back from them saying very similar to other people experienced and reported online. I decided to send in my $213.65 personal check on Wednesday 10/28/2009 and keep looking at my bank acct twice a day to see if they took my money and when I will get my product. In addition, I have a friend who will visit Las Vegas this week. He will check out the place for me and see if he can pick up the phone in person… I will report back on my findings…

well i filed a police report with the Henderson, NV police dept today. That is where our checks went. They called back after checking out the address and told me that there is someone at that bldg that signs for their mail but they do not have an actual office there.

I was suspicious but sent a check for this i-phone promotion. My money was taken on Nov.3rd. I have been e-mailing them about the shipment. Last week I was told that they will be shipped last week. And today I got an e-mail saying that they ran out… And won’t get back order till Nov. 30th.

Actually, I read in one of the internet site someone claiming to offer assistance to people who where scammed. It seems like the same people turned round and became online investigators for their own crime! So be ware of such characters.

Hi, I am the owner of iPhone Gear (iphonegear.com), not iPhone Gear USA (iphonegearusa.com). I have to say, I never bought anything at “iphone gear usa” but I got a lot of emails in the past where confused iPhoneGearUSA customers were very upset. The customers obviously thought we sold them iphones, which we only sell accessories, and wanted their money back or wanted to know why there was no communication. I replied to all of those confused customers to let them know they had the wrong website.
From my experience, it seems “iPhone Gear USA” had a lot of unhappy customers. And, it seems they went out of business, since their site is no longer available. I would stay away from them!

I have received a confirmation number for my order thus that mean anything? don’t you guys think that they might have no stock due to the demand. krazken, the website was under development, or not unveiled until late october, which made me think that gave them credibility because my train of thought was that if it was a scam, why didnt they just slap a website together and screw us over outright, why mess around telling us to wait until november 30th or december 2nd? thats what i dont understand

Sue: I just told them that I would like to dispute the check. And the lady asked me if I wrote that check. So I answered “yes”. She said “why are you disputing then?” I said “because I never received the item.” And she went and print out my check. Then she told me if the management approves the dispute I should get my money back in 5-10 days. So we’ll see. I don’t know if you can do the same with cashier’s check or money order though…

I called the police in Henderson to get the file # to include in the form I filled out online regarding cyber crimes. I talked to someone regarding cyber crimes and not necessarily the FBI and they told me to fill out the form for the IC3(Internet Crime Complaint Center). I completed it to the fullest and now will just wait to see what and if something happens. This is probably our best bet right now. It’s now out of my hands and with the proper authorities. I hope river can give us some feedback on where he lives possibly.

I just found out that this Iphone they are selling is a clone from China and there where a bit of a challenge in shipment here in USA that’s why we never get the phone. those people who purchase in July where able to get the phone but no complain yet. Source Yahoo.com
