The iPhone Touch screen, should I be worried?

I heard that the iPhone loses the touch sensitiity very shorty after it's purchased. I've had mine for two weeks now. So my questions are: How long until the iPhone touch screen starts to lose sensitivity. What should I do to help keep its sensitivity longer? How long until the iPhone screen is completely unresponsive?
