Strange yellow bar at bottom of ipod touch screen?

I have a Jailbroken Ipod Touch 3g with 3.1.2. Today i noticed that when i move my finger to the bottom of the ipod screen this little yellow bar comes and highlights the text and if touched a few times the ipod goes into safe mode, this is annoying and i have no idea how it happened and i have never seen it before. If anyone knows how to remove it help please.
